This meet was put together as a qualifier for BenchAmerica 2. Joe Smith and myself were already qualified at 123 and 132 respectively, but we needed to qualify at new weight classes. Brooke Freiman was on the border, so she wanted to post a bigger number.

Brooke and I both had an off day. Brooke hadn't been feeling well; and I hadn't been training well (it might be time for me to do some tricep work; it's been about 3 months since I've done a tricep excerise - don't ask). Joe was the complete opposite.

Brooke had shirt problems; and had a difficult time getting the bar to her chest. She missed on all three attempts. I did a little better, but not much! I missed my first (daylight under the butt), so I had to repeat my opener, which was pretty easy. My last wasn't...brought it too low on my chest. This was Joe Smith's day; he was a benching machine! He went 3 for 3 and came within 9 pounds of the single lift National record, finishing with a whopping 420! Way to go Joe!
